Value of 1892 Morgan Silver Dollar

1892 Morgan Silver Dollars produced at the Philadelphia Mint are worth more and scarce in the higher Mint State grades. Strike quality varies from weak to sharp, but usually average to below average. Luster varies from dull and poor, to lustrous and flashy. Bagmarks are common. Gem or prooflike coins are rare. As with many Proof issues of the era, look for a Proof 1892 Morgan with strong design elements and some cameo contrast and you’ll be ahead of the game.
Find a 1892 Morgan $1 Silver Coin Easily: Always available at EF and AU, grades that attract many collectors today.
If You Find a Higher Grade Coin, It Is Worth the Investment: A fairly scarce date in all Mint State grades, the 1892 is typically found at MS-60 to 62 or so, with MS-63 coins less easily located. MS-64 and MS-65 coins are more elusive and come into the marketplace with less frequency. Look for a sharply struck and lustrous MS-64 and you will be greatly satisfied.

The obverse text on the Morgan Dollar reads “Liberty; E Pluribus Unum; 1892.” The reverse text on the Liberty dollar reads “United States of America; In God We Trust; One Dollar.” The obverse of the silver one dollar coin has a bust of a female facing the left wearing a cap and small crown, with flowers tucked in her hair and stars surrounding the border. The reverse of the Morgan Dollar has an eagle in the center with its wings spread and a wreath surrounding.
