  • Make sure Reddcoin Core is installed on the computer that you will be using.
  • If needed, install Reddcoin Core from: https://download.reddcoin.com/.
  • Transfer your wallet backup file (a .dat file) to the computer.
  • If Reddcoin Core is running, exit/close it.
  • Open your Reddcoin data folder. This folder contains all your blockchain files.
The default folders:

  • Linux: ~/.reddcoin
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Reddcoin
  • Windows: %APPDATA%/Reddcoin (Use Windows key + R to open the run window, type this into the run window),
  • If you can’t find your Reddcoin data folder, try this method:
  • Start Reddcoin Core.
  • Open ‘Debug window’, via ‘Help’ -> ‘Debug window’.
    ↳ Screenshot
  • The ‘Debug window’ appears on the screen, showing the ‘Information’ tab. Click on the ‘Open’ button at the bottom to open the ‘Debug log file’.
    ↳ Screenshot
  • The debug log file will be opened. Search for the following in the file (CTRL + F) to see your data folder: Using data directory.
↳ Screenshot
In this example, the data folder is “C:\Reddcoin”.

  • Check if you already have a file named wallet.dat in your Reddcoin data folder.
  • If the wallet.dat is already existing, rename it. To old_wallet.dat for example.
  • Now, copy/move your backup wallet file to your Reddcoin data folder.
Make sure to name the file wallet.dat.

  • Start Reddcoin Core.
After the wallet software is loaded, your RDDs should be visible. Wait for Recent transactions to stop showing “Out of sync” before performing any transactions.
